The ask:
The Living Donor Liver Transplant team at UW Medicine requested these views of the liver for a patient education brochure.
My process:
The clients provided rough thumbnail sketches to show what they wanted to communicate. They wanted illustrations that were both clear and approachable, so I used Illustrator to create the flat-style image of the liver.
Results:
Clients liked the work enough to use in several brochures, and later requested a variation to show the proportional difference between the sections used in pediatric transplants compared to adult transplants.
