I moved to the Seattle area in my twenties and found the closeness of the natural world invigorating. I\u2019ve worked as a designer for over 20 years, mostly at the University of Washington, where I collaborated with professionals in academics, medicine, and marketing. My work experience includes digital and print art production, graphic design, web design, UX design, and illustration.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Illustration lights me up. I love the challenge of helping experts explain complex concepts using clear, easily understood visuals. Many recent clients have come from various areas of specialization within the UW School of Medicine. I find it rewarding to support their research and teaching, which is why much of my work has focused on medicine.<\/span><\/p>\n

Discovery: <\/em> <\/strong>Initiate client meetings and interviews to understand the project goals, <\/span><\/p>\n

timeline, and budget.<\/span><\/p>\n

Exploration: <\/strong>Gather reference images and conduct research on the subject matter.<\/span><\/p>\n

Round 1: <\/strong>Create preliminary work (sketches and mockups) to ensure accuracy and <\/span><\/p>\n

alignment with the client’s vision.<\/span><\/p>\n

Feedback: <\/strong>Review initial work with the client to identify opportunities for improvement.<\/span><\/p>\n

Round 2: <\/strong> <\/em><\/strong>Incorporate feedback to refine the work.<\/span><\/p>\n
