The ask:

My client, an OB/GYN virologist with the UW School of Medicine, was submitting a paper to the American Journal of Reproductive Immunology.

My process:

They gave me a rough outline in PowerPoint including a rough sketch. I then created the graphic elements in Illustrator and modified the layout to give a clear view showing the two states discussed in their research, contrasting severe illness causing a cytokine storm with a less severe illness.
